Triple A Polyclonals Antibodies offer specificity, reproducibility and versatility

Triple A Polyclonals™ (Atlas Antibodies Advanced Polyclonals) are research-grade rabbit polyclonals developed within the Human Protein Atlas project. Triple A Polyclonals are specific, reproducible and versatile. Read below to learn about their unique advantages.

The Triple A Polyclonals have been used to map the human proteome by the Human Protein Atlas project. Each antibody has been used for IHC-staining of samples from 708 individuals originating from normal and cancer afflicted human tissues. Trained pathologists have evaluated the reliability of all IHC-staining patterns. In addition, ICC-IF-based confocal microscopy has been used to study subcellular distribution patterns in selected cell lines. Further, Triple A Polyclonals are characterized by Western Blot (WB), primarily in endogenous protein lysates from human tissues

  • Triple A Polyclonals - Number 1 in IHC

We are the number one for research antibodies used in IHC. Find out why or Triple A Polyclonals™ are the antibodies of choice for your IHC experiments.

What does it take to be number one in IHC? It starts with a catalog of over 17,000 research antibodies validated in IHC. For each antibody, we provide you with 500 annotated images in normal and cancerous tissues. We are the original manufacturer of our Triple A Polyclonals antibodies. Our deep knowledge within IHC is supported by our stringent quality control and guaranteed lot-to-lot reproducibility. Added to this is our team of qualified scientists always ready to support you.

Find the antibody you need in our extensive catalog

Atlas Antibodies provide you with a wide catalog of primary antibodies validated in IHC and targeting 75% of the human proteome. You can choose between more than 17,000 antibodies validated in IHC on all major tissues and organs in the human body as well as the 20 most common cancer types.

Our portfolio covers different research areas such as neuroscience, cancer, cell biology, stem cell & development. The standardized manufacturing process and the rigorous quality control ensure that the antibodies meet the highest level of specificity and selectivity. In addition, enhanced validation is applied as an extra level of security of antibody specificity in a defined context.

Triple A Polyclonals: the choice for your IHC assays

Triple A Polyclonals typically contain between 3-5 epitopes. This makes them optimal for IHC due to the higher assay sensitivity resulting from the possibility of targeting several epitopes on the same protein. Another advantage is the versatility this brings. Several epitopes give the antibody a higher chance of working in other species and applications. If one epitope should be destroyed in sample preparation, be blocked, or missing in another species, the Triple A Polyclonal will still bind to one of the other epitopes.

Free access to an unparalleled amount of IHC data and images

We manufacture the Triple A Polyclonals used in the Human Protein Atlas project at Atlas Antibodies. For each Triple A Polyclonals, you have free access to over 500 IHC staining images from all major human organs and cancer types on the Human Protein Atlas. Skilled pathologists manually annotates every image. Because transparency is crucial to us, we freely share all the IHC data and provide the staining images and the antigen sequence used for our antibodies.

    Validated antibodies targeting unknown proteins

The human Protein Atlas project has mapped the human proteome with our Triple A Polyclonals antibodies validated for IHC. This is why we can offer antibodies against uncommon or unknown proteins for which published data is missing. For these uncommon or unknown proteins, we provide IHC images and the expression data in all major tissues in the human body and the 20 most common cancer types.

    Enhanced Validation

The need for extensively validated antibodies expressed by the scientific community is perfectly in line with the mindset of Atlas Antibodies, where antibody validation and reproducibility always has been of the highest priority. Since IHC is a non-quantitative method, our experienced scientists perform thorough manual analysis in a vast number of human tissues to ensure antibody specificity. As an extra layer of antibody validation, we add enhanced validation data in an application-specific manner, using the approach recommended in Nature Methods by Uhlén et al.

    Lot-to-lot reproducibility in IHC

At Atlas Antibodies, we know our antibodies. To ensure functionality and assay reproducibility in a real lab situation, every new production lot is tested in IHC in parallel to the existing lots on a large number of tissues.

The immune response may vary between animals, and therefore a polyclonal antibody purified from a new animal serum needs a stringent quality control procedure to secure retained specificity and functionality. At Atlas Antibodies, this is ensured by analyzing the new lot in parallel with its reference lot on consecutive tissue sections.

We support you with our expertise in IHC

Do you have a question about IHC or antibodies? We are committed to sharing our deep expertise with you. Our Scientific Support team of highly qualified scientists is here to assist you, supported by our R&D and Quality Control teams.

Specificity

Triple A Polyclonals are carefully designed using a proprietary antigen design software that selects a Protein Epitope Signature Tag (PrEST) sequence of between 50 to 150 amino acids having the lowest possible identity to other human proteins.

The PrEST concept secures the highest level of specificity when used for polyclonal antibody production. While full-length recombinant proteins often increase the risk for off-target binding, the PrEST antigen effectively reduces unwanted specificity by avoiding regions with high regional or local sequence identity to other proteins.

Reproducibility

Developed by top Swedish scientists to create the Human Protein Atlas, our carefully designed Triple A Polyclonals are produced using the same standardized production process to ensure consistency. Furthermore, our unique antibody purification process, using the recombinant PrEST-antigen as the affinity ligand, achieves the highest reproducibility level. New production lots are tested in parallel with existing lots to ensure functionality and assay reproducibility in a real lab situation.

Versatility

Triple A Polyclonals combine optimal specificity with superior versatility across applications, including IHC, ICC-IF, and WB. While anti-peptide antibodies often generate too narrowly specific antibodies, the use of our PrEST-antigens results in advanced polyclonals that combine optimal specificity and minimal off-target binding with superior epitope recognition across applications, protein states and species. If you would like to use Triple A Polyclonals in an application or species we have not yet evaluated, we encourage you to participate in our Explorer Program.
