After the human genome was sequenced, the Human Protein Atlas set out to map where every human protein is found in cells, tissues and organs. The project, funded by the Knut & Alice Wallenberg Foundation, needed specific antibodies on a scale that didn’t exist. So the researchers made their own.
Atlas Antibodies was founded in 2006 to make these antibodies available to researchers everywhere. We back them with open validation data, not marketing claims.

We started as users, so we know validation is what matters. The Human Protein Atlas holds that an antibody is only validated when it performs in a complex biological context. We follow the same principle.
Validation is application-specific. Good performance in one application doesn’t guarantee it in another, so we test each antibody for its intended use and only publish data for applications that pass our criteria.
