In 2000 when the human genome had been completed, an initiative was started to map out the location of human proteins in cells, tissues, organs and blood. This became the Knut & Alice Wallenberg Foundation funded research project The Human Protein Atlas. To map the proteome, our researchers needed a vast library of specific antibodies that simply did not exist. When we realized the antibody library essential for our work simply wasn't available, we became innovators creating the very tools our success required. That user-first legacy is built into every antibody we provide.
Our company Atlas Antibodies was established in 2006 to make these unique, exhaustively characterized antibodies from the Human Protein Atlas project accessible to the global research community. The result is a portfolio of antibodies that we stand behind, not with marketing claims, but with transparent validation data.
