How does the heart form?

There is significant interest in understanding the mechanisms
underlying heart formation to develop treatments and cures
for patients who have congenital heart disease.

Proper heart formation requires joint development of two anatomically distinct groups of cells: the first and second heart fields (FHF and SHF).

Tbx5 is a marker of the early FHF, while Wnt signaling is implicated in SHF proliferation.

In this study, our Anti-TBX5 antibody (HPA008786) and single-cell transcriptomic analysis uncover a novel relationship between specified cardiac progenitor cells and SHF progenitors.
